Christian's science and biotechnology background includes 7 years academic PhD R&D experience and 7 years in biopharmaceutical R&D. He has held positions as Scientific Director and Director of Preclinical laboratories where he successfully managed biopharmaceutical research and preclinical laboratories focused in the areas of oncology, immunology and neurobiology, with special interest and expertise in the development of cell and stem cell based therapies.
Christian is well versed in scientific project development and management processes, and all aspects of preclinical development, regulatory and requisite therapeutic filing procedures. His scientific background includes expertise in the development of bio-analytical assays for clinical product testing and release in Stem Cell Biology, Cellular Therapy, Cellular Immunology, Oncology, Neurobiology, Intracellular Signaling, Cell Cycle Regulation and Apoptosis. He brings strong technical proficiency into the development of both in vitro and in vivo systems covering pathology, cellular immunology, neuronal stem cell biology, cell biology, cancer cell biology, cell-based bioassays, biochemistry, molecular biology and microscopy.
He is familiar with all FDA and Canadian TPD filing requirements: depth of knowledge in process implementation in accordance with GLP, GMP and ICH guidelines including protocol development, reports, archiving and analysis of raw data, validation of analytical methods, validation of cell treatment procedures for clinical use, preparation and qualification of master plans, SOP's, and quality assurance standards.
His project management skills have brought several projects from research stage to IND with filings in both the US and Canada within 12 months of project initiation, including several successful parallel project development applications. Experience with most scientific software and management systems.
His academic training includes an Honours BSc and Masters in Biology then PhD in Structural, Molecular and Cellualr Biology from Henri Poincare Univeristy, Nancy, France, followed by post-doctoral studies in Cell Signalling at INSERM, CENG, Grenoble, France. His academic R&D continued at the University of Montreal before transitioning into biotechnology.
